Irish Megaliths

One of the megalithic chambers at Loughcrew, its walls and pillars engranved with concentric circles, spirals and swirls. A gigantic stone basin lies in the alcove.	Another Irish megalithic chamber with a stone offering basin, which seems to have two eyes or circles engraved at one end.

The stone statues on Boa Island in northern Ireland have some affinities with the ancient menhir-statues. Like them, they barely emerge from the rock, but are carved in low relief with minimal shaping of the stone pillar. The foreground statue is known as Lustymore Idol.
