Thousands of years after it was raised, this statue-menhir was altered with carvings typical of the La Tène style in the early centuries BCE.

but the U-shape could as easily be a face outline. Both of these megalithic ancestors retained their connection with the ancestral dead, as shown by the Christian cemetery constructed around them.
